Mae Layug promotes cruelty-free beauty
In a series of tweets, beauty vlogger Mae Layug expressed her support to stop cosmetic animal testing by deleting almost 40 of her product reviews on brand involved in this practice.
Layug also mentioned dropping deals and partnerships with popular brands such as Loreal, Maybelline, Estee Lauder, Revlon, Mary Kay, Nars, and Avon as they are known for testing their products on animals.
Instead, she encouraged everyone to switch and use cruelty-free products from brands like Wet N wild, ELF, Catrice, Colourpop, Makeup Revolution, L.A. Girl.
Locally, Ever Bilena, Careline, Blk Cosmetics, Vice Cosmetics.
Each year, hundreds of thousands of animals in the world are used and killed just to assess the safety of cosmetics.
Layug ended the thread by encouraging everyone to participate in a petition that would ban animal testing worldwide.
